How I became a reviewer
My passion is psychology, and my book choices tend to reflect that passion. Child and developmental psychology and cognition are of particular interest to me, but I am currently working in organisational psychology.
An unusual series of events led me to Novelspot, and so, here we all are…
My taste in books:
My passion for psychology leads me to read a lot of psychology books, but I do have other interests! Because of my work with children in the church that I attend, I read a lot of children’s ministry and leadership books.
Max Lucado, Joyce Myers, CS Lewis and John Maxwell.
What makes a book a keeper?
What makes me throw a book at the wall?
It depends on the genre. Clarity of presentation of ideas is important in any genre, but with psychology, justification of theory is crucial.
Bad writing, ie poor grammar and punctuation, and bad style. Also, inaccessible language irritates me.
My favorite genre and why?
My least favorite genre and why?
Non-fiction: Psychology – it’s a subject that fascinates me..
Boring war “thrillers”. Zzzzz….. It must be a man thing.
