How I became an author
___________________________________________

I have loved to write since I was a teen and was writing fan fiction before it was known as fan fiction.

I used to write about my favorite bands and thoroughly enjoyed it. But one can not publish fan fiction. So, ShadowsForge (yes, it is one word with the F capitalized) was born. My five British Bad Boys and I have traveled all over the UK and America through five books and I probably have one or two more that I could write. I also write poetry which shows up as their lyrics.

My taste in books:

Favorite authors:

I really prefer a sweet romance. I know what I like to happen when the bedroom door closes and it's never what I have read in most romance books. I'm kind of old fashioned that way. I also enjoy light mystery and adventure

Rachel Hauck, early Victoria Holt, Rita Hestand, Julie Garwood., to name a few

What makes a book a keeper?

What makes me throw a book at the wall?

When it touches my emotions and takes me where I never expected it would go. If it makes me laugh, makes me cry or makes me wonder about it long after I've finished, that makes me want to read it again and again.

When the writer has missed the possibility of making a scene phenominal because they are looking at it from a different angle than I am. They begin an opportunity but don't follow up on it and it dies on the page.

My favorite genre and why?

My least favorite genre and why?

Romance in the natural realm. I don't care for vampires, time travel, etc. I want real, possible romance between two realistic characters.

Horror - I don't like to be scared. I find no pleasure in it.

My bathroom library:

My to be read list:

Who has time for that?

Ever changing as I review. I am looking to read and review more Young Adult books. I think reading is so important for the young and want to know that there are quality books out there for the young to be reading.

My favorite links:

My favorite reading snack:

I spend a lot of time searching links for information to help me improve my writing. I am working on the fifth installment of the ShadowsForge Series (my fictional rock band) and want to branch out to writing for Young Adults and Children.

Fritos, sugar free chocolates, mixed nuts, and Wheat Thins.
