How I became a...
___________________________________________

I am a wife and mother of four; three of them step, but still mine. They are grown and not underfoot. My hobbies are attempting to organize the chaos of my home and attempting to attain physical fitness. My life is reading and music.

I was asked to write reviews by the first romance group I joined. I discovered that writing reviews is a craft, and when I severed my relationship with the first group, I sought reviewing positions. I am happy to be with NovelSpot, where I believe I will be able to polish my craft and perhaps move on to other writing projects.

My taste in books:

Favorite authors:

I concentrated on mysteries and thrillers for many years, but just three years ago turned to romantic fiction. I love historical (especially Regency), contemporary, and paranormal fiction.

Jennifer Crusie, Susan Elizabeth Phillips, Jo Beverley, Loretta Chase, Sherrilyn Kenyon, and I could go on and on. And my favorite author list continues to grow.

What makes a book a keeper?

What makes me throw a book at the wall?

My shelves are full of books that are keepers. I keep books that make me feel good. These books usually have an element of humor, although I admit to the occasional erotica. Ok, more than occasional.

Hmm. This does not happen often. Lately I have noticed that I am not compelled to finish every book I start if the book cannot hold my interest or requires extensive re-reading each time I pick it up.

My favorite genre and why?

My least favorite genre and why?

I would have to say Regencies, especially the newer ones that are steamier than the traditional Regency. I enjoy the fantasy of the privileged world, with numerous servants, enormous and beautifully furnished homes, and extravagant entertainments.

I don't think there is one. I will be very cautious venturing into the realm of horror fiction.

My bathroom library:

My to be read list:

The Liberal Weekly newspaper, the Funny Times newspaper, and the Smithsonian magazine, plus the book 1000 PLACES TO SEE BEFORE YOU DIE.

It is a monster, a thing of shame, and that is just the books I have actually purchased. It includes both paperback and electronic books. The ones I want to read and haven't purchased is another monster.

My favorite links:

My favorite reading snack:

Dark Romance Novel (I love those nutty dark romance writers), The Parasitorium (I love those crazy horror writers) The Regency Reader, Fiction DB.

I like gummy bears, nuts, or chips, washed down with diet (always diet) cola. Well, all right, sometimes I eat fruit.
